Hooks: win the first 2 seconds
On TikTok, viewers decide almost instantly. The first 2 seconds need a reason to stay, spoken and shown on screen.
Hook formulas that work for products
- Problem: "Your phone keeps falling out of your pocket on the bike?"
- Result first: show the finished look, then "here's how in 20 seconds".
- Mistake: "Stop washing your scarf like this."
- Test: "I dropped this tumbler from 2 metres. Watch."
- Comparison: "$4 vs $15 lunch box: which is worth it?"
The hook prompt
Product: [PRODUCT + 3 REAL FACTS]. Buyer: [WHO + THEIR PROBLEM].
Write 15 TikTok hooks under 10 words, in [LANGUAGE].
Mix: problem, result first, mistake, test, comparison.
For each, give the first visual (what's on screen in second 1).
Flag any hook that promises a result I can't show on camera.Rules
- The video must deliver what the hook promises.
- No fake urgency ("last 3 units!" when it isn't), no invented prices or reviews.
- Show the product in the first 3 seconds.
